Biography
Frank
M. Sontag Jr. was born July 6th, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio. In his early toddler
years, Frank showed a keen interest in two areas, horses and music. By the age
of 8, Frank began taking accordion lessons, with possible aspirations of music
as a career. Within the next year, Frank placed first in a number of
competitions, with the highlight being a third place finish in a contest that
featured more than 600 children from all over the entire state of Ohio. But in
February of 1964, Frank's life would be changed forever. On a winter's night
in the suburbs of Eastlake, Ohio, the Sontag family sat down to watch a little
television. And on this particular evening, four lads from Liverpool, England
made their American debut on the Ed Sullivan Show. No more accordion. A short
time later Frank's father, Frank senior decided to move the family and make a
go of it in Hollywood, having successfully landed a job in the electrical
department of Universal Studios.

So in
the summer of 1965, it was goodbye Ohio and hello to sunny Southern
California. Four years later, Frank attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman
Oaks, where he graduated at the age of sixteen in 1972. For the next 8 years,
Frank attended college on three different brief occasions, where he majored in
Mathematics, Psychology, and Veterinary Medicine. He also tried his hand at a
number of different jobs; store manager for Ralph's Grocery Markets, a fire
insurance inspector, and a warehouse manager for a private airplane parts
company. Frank even teamed up with his father for a short time, learning the
ropes as a lighting technician in the movie industry. But nothing seemed to
hold his interest, until one fateful evening in June of 1984, when Frank's
life would again be changed forever. It was Sunday evening, June 17th to be
exact, when Frank was involved in a near-fatal motorcycle crash. He was rear
ended by someone driving in excess of 100mph on impact and would sustain
injuries that took years to heal. A short time after the accident, Frank sold
all of his possessions and moved to North Lake Tahoe. Spending the long cold
winter, locked in a cabin with only the basic necessities to survive, Frank
began to reassess everything he held true about life, including his own
perceptions about himself. This was what Frank now refers to as the beginning
of his, "Wake-Up Call". During his spiritual sabbatical, Frank began to
practice meditation, discovered many of the world’s greatest spiritual leaders
and teachers through their writings and oratory works, and started pursuing
the many realms of consciousness and self-actualization.
About
one year later, Frank would return to Southern California when in September of
1985, he began his new life as a radio broadcaster, being hired at 95.5 KLOS-FM in Los Angeles. At one of America’s most premiere music stations,
Frank has been a disc-jockey, news director, sportscaster, board operator for
the highly successful Mark and Brian radio program, and his real love, the
"Impact" program. "Impact" is a talk-radio show, dedicated to raising
consciousness, which Frank has currently hosted for more than 19 years. In
1987 Frank founded, "The Project For Social Change", an organization dedicated
to helping serve the needs of the community. Over the years, some of Frank’s
work through The Project" has been, giving lectures on a wide variety of life
issues, hosting fundraising dinners for other non-profit organizations,
facilitating personal growth workshops, and editing and publishing a
bi-monthly newsletter. Frank still continues to share his life message through
his radio program and the "Project" to this day. He is currently entertaining
the idea of syndicating his radio program as well as starting a similar
program on satellite radio. Frank is married to the former Erin Cline and is
the proud father of his only daughter, Lindsay.
